ESTEIO has been acting intensively in the market of Ducts in activities that aim at Monitoring (Management) or Implementation of this type of enterprise.

At Implementation, one of the activities that deserve special attention is related to the pluvial crossing studies existing throughout the interesting sections.

These studies have the purpose to detail rivers that might present instability risks for pipes and the most favorable conditions for its crossing.

They are performed in two distinct steps: preliminary studies, in which all rivers throughout the area under study are known; and detailed studies, in which the crossing location is defined.

Preliminary studies are divided into three sub-activities: hydrological studies; Field survey and preliminary cadastre of crossings; and data analysis.

Detailed studies, in turn, comprise activities from geologic geomorphologic − geotechnical studies to studies regarding anthropic interventions, being highlighted here bathymetric surveys.

ESTEIO has advanced technology to perform bathymetric surveys, which consist of determining the variation of the river bed depth in certain sections.

The system is composed of NAVSTAR GPS satellite trackers, double frequency (L1 and L2), radios for real−time coordinates correction, continuous record digital and analogical echobathymeter, with a transducer installed in one side of the vessel.

The activity basically consists of obtaining the coordinates of a point provided by GPS, in real time, and the depth of this point provided by the echobathymeter.

This system is generated by specific software that enables subsequent data analysis and generation of Longitudinal Profiles, Theme Maps, 3D Views, and others.

At the end of the crossing studies, drawings and reports are elaborated with recommendations regarding the constructive method to be adopted, location for crossing implementation and monitoring suggestions.

With this technology, ESTEIO participated in several enterprises throughout Brazil and neighbor countries, highlighting services executed in the Amazon region, Urucu−Coari Poli−pipeline and Urucu−Porto Velho Gas Pipe; throughout Brazil-Bolivia Gas Pipe, both in Brazil and Bolivia; and in Uruguaiana−Porto Alegre Gas Pipe.
