In 2001, ESTEIO S.A performed an aerial survey in Poços de Caldas – MG with the purpose of colecting ortophotos at 1:2000 scale.
The main part of the contract had included a GIS development combining new products with previous data existent in the Department of Cadaster of Poços de Caldas. Besides that, a special training of Department of Cadaster for operation and maintenance of the system was the final aim of the contract.
Gis Structure
GIS was developed to have a tool tto optimize and to rationalize city planning, to facilitate the coherence and the continuity of local government, and to make possible new investments in cadaster.
Besides that, GIS would establish a cartographic reference to the municipality supported in the identification, standardization and reference of the spatial data, such as public land, parcels, blocks and so on.
Finally, properties records will be up-to-date with GIS maintenance and operation, supporting public directives and municipal databases as a tool to Cadastral System of Poços de Caldas.
Developed Routines
The main routines focused the following activities:
Training
A technical training for GIS operation was performed to Municipality technicians. They spent 40 hours on training in Cartography, GPS, Orthophotos and finnaly, GIS structures and operation. These technicians form a specialized igroup to continue the work process with GIS tool.
The main Training GIS topics are the following: GIS concepts, ARCGIS and ARCVIEW software, Parcels Layers, Tools and Tables, Spatial Searches and Selections, Features Edition and Programming.
