Aerial Photographs are widely used for Cartography and can have various types of emulsions:
Black and White panchromatic: this is the most widely used emulsion for mapping and photo interpretation;
Colored: Indicated for interpretation given the capacity to differentiate colors from tones;
Black and White Infrared: due to the sensitivity to larger wavelengths, it captures images more completely through fog and mist than the panchromatic emulsion. Used for special cases of photo interpretation such as oil leakages;
Colored infrared: also known as fake color. Used for photo interpretation, especially for detecting diseases in cultivation and Forest areas, ground analyses and water pollution.
