Paraná state developed a government program to support urban development in the municipalities called Paraná Urbano. The first goal was promoting improvement of quality life of population. Therefore, it was developed an integrated government programs that intend a substantial improvement in cities infrastructure.
Some programs assured a substantial improvement in social part, through the establishment of basic sanitation projects, health and childhood attendance, bridges and road paving, public illumination, environment and places for small new companies, making possible creation of fixed and temporary employment.
The program has financial participation of the Inter−American Development Bank, Government of the Paraná state and the cities. The coordination of the program was made by a state government agency called Secretaria do Estado do Desenvolvimento Urbano – SEDU.
Cartography is the base of any planning, so ESTEIO participated of this program performing services of digital mapping at 1:2000, 1:5000 and 1:10000 scales for Serviço Social Autônomo − PARANACIDADE.
Since 1994 to present time, ESTEIO already mapped 33 cities of more than 400 cities of Paraná state.
