ESTEIO executed Ground Photogrammetry services to support the preservation and restoring activities of Torre de Garcia D’Ávila Castle, historical building from the 17th century, located in the State of Bahia, Brazil.

Executed services consisted of taking pictures using photogrammetric ground camera, materialization and survey of support point coordinates in the building’s facade, aerial triangulation, photogrammetric capture (planialtimetric stereocompilation) and generation of colored digital orthophotos.

Having as contracting party the Military Engineering Institute and the purpose to support the planning step of the restoration and as graphic documentation element of the current characteristics of the monument.

Photogrammetric Capture was executed aiming at the identification and representation of the building facades characteristics and the building as a whole, such as materials used, structure, construction methods, etc, and preservation conditions such as presence of holes, cracks, missing elements, etc, in addition to capture information to obtain a numeric model representing the relief as support to make the digital orthophoto.
