Established in the 1970’s, in the city of Araucária/PR, 25 kilometers away from Curitiba, the Presidente Getúlio Vargas Refinery − Repar is one of the main processing units of PETROBRAS.
In 2004, ESTEIO was hired to generate a product named Digital Mosaic, presented in 1:4,000 scale, which has the main purpose, for PETROBRAS, to manage the refinery operations, also including forms to use this type of product for support in SHE (Safety, Environment and Health) issues.
The Mosaic in 1.40m X 2.40m format was generated from aerial images of the refinery, collected via Quick Bird satellite and provided by REPAR. Toponymic data were extracted and updated from an existing Mosaic and also generated by ESTEIO in 2001, as well as updated information provided by PETROBRAS. The final product was supplemented with specific legend and its presentation in various units was improved by lamination and framing efforts.
