The conceptual design of a pipeline to supply MS, SP, PR, SC, RS, RS, RJ and MG Brazilian states with natural gas from Bolivia was developed by Petrobras, Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales Bolivianos and ESTEIO.
At the end of 1992 and beginning of 1993, ESTEIO developed Thematic Mapping with use of satellite images to provide resources for a right-of-way choice by Petrobras for a pipeline from Bolivia to Brazil.
Thematic Mapping is a representation in drawings of the right-of-way of pipeline, ground profile, satellite images as background and technical reports, involving the presentation of a remote sensing work in about 50.000 km².
During 1993, ESTEIO finished the services in Brazilian territory and started the services of remote sensing interpretation in the Bolivian territory for a new right-of-way from Santa Cruz de La Sierra, Bolivia to Brazilian border.
This work was performed in 11.300 km² of Brazilian and Bolivian territory and ESTEIO developed Thematic Mapping using satellite images with geographical coordinates references and field survey.
